News Alerts

PostUp’s Breaking News workflow allows you to establish targeting criteria, select communication channels and create text placeholders within your content in a form of a template. Then, when news breaks, you simply populate the text placeholders and deploy the message. PostUp’s workflow ensures that you can deploy your breaking news in 30 seconds or less.

The tags created here will become available on the Content tab, where you can drop them into their email or SMS, creating placeholders that you will fill at a later time.

1. Click on the Tags tab. By default, PostUp offers three standard tags: Subject, Text and URL.

  • Subject: The Subject tag should be placed in the Subject Line field on the Content tab. This will allow you to change or create the subject line for each news alert.
  • Text: The Text tag will create a placeholder that will allow you to add a short description about the breaking news story.
  • URL: The URL tag will create a placeholder that will allow you to enter the URL that will redirect the user back to the your website to read the full story.

From this page, you have the following options:

  • Revise the existing tags by simply clicking inside the field and editing the information.
    • Name: The Name field determines how the tag will appear on the Content tab.
    • Description: PostUp will use the Description field to create an info icon on the News Alert page.
    • Default Value: Any content placed within the Default Value field will appear in the field when a user creates a new breaking news alert.
  • Click on the Required checkbox to make a field required for the end user.
  • Click on Multiline to increase the field length for the selected tag.
